Psych Med School was created for visionaries
Even as a trailblazer, you appreciate a map.
There is so much excitement rippling through our community at the rise of psychedelic medicine–we all see it becoming a new specialty. We are watching the bright future of behavioral health unfold in real time.
As a healthcare professional, either just out of school or well into your career, you are more committed than ever to serve your patients at the highest caliber.
You have done “the responsible thing” for years and learned the system—but if you are honest? You have become disillusioned with traditional methods and are reaching a moment of truth.
Rushing through symptom checklists and refilling prescriptions is just not enough. Patients stay stuck.
You want your work to feel meaningful, heart-centered, and alive again. (Like that fresh-out-of-school spark… before the constraints of the system dulled it.)
Psychedelic medicine gives you that feeling, and you are ready to be a pioneer—the idea feels so exciting.
But you were trained to calculate the risk. Navigating the unknown can feel risky.
You have built a reputation, and people trust you.
Colleagues are posting about retreats, certifications, fellowships, ketamine work, MDMA trials, psilocybin facilitation and you are ready…but where do you fit?
Mastering complex information is not a problem. You know you're smart—but this landscape? It feels different because it’s so new, decentralized, and constantly changing.
Frontiers can be messy. You want to follow your curiosity while keeping your discernment.
After researching training programs, you might have more questions than answers:
-
Where do I start?
-
What am I really looking for?
-
What do I want this to become for me?
-
What am I ready for right now—and what am I not ready for yet?
-
How do I step into this world with clarity and confidence…without getting overwhelmed or lost?
So, what is your first step?
First, close all the open tabs—no more research rabbit holes.
You need a tool that helps you slow down and get honest about what you want before investing thousands of dollars and your precious time in a program.

We’re not your average psychedelic medicine school–
Because we aren't a school at all.
Most platforms in this space focus on science, spirituality, or marketing. Many schools are designed to train you for a specific role or certification.
Psych Med School does something different. We are here to help you find your path into psychedelic medicine.
We offer a free self-assessment tool to help you get your bearings before choosing a training program. The podcast allows you to experience the ecosystem through conversations, instead of reading endless sales pages. It is your place for unbiased conversations with training leaders—so you can understand the landscape before choosing a program.
Google gives you information. Psych Med School gives you navigation and conversations.
Built from a clinician’s perspective, this platform understands licensure, stigma, and responsibility, while honoring that the psychedelic ecosystem is bigger than credentials alone.
It was created so you can explore thoughtfully, avoid costly missteps, and take your next step in a way that’s grounded and aligned with who you are as a clinician

Hi, I’m Dr. L Cooper
The real person behind SCOUTT™ (not some faceless, generic AI bot)
I have worked for 20 years as a Physician Associate, inside modern healthcare and my question is, is this really the best we can do for people?
I believe in medicine, but was feeling burned out by its limitations—rushed care, fragmented systems, and not enough space for real healing.
In late 2023, something shifted. I became alcohol-free, which brought clarity and direction. Then I attended the ASKP3 ketamine conference in Austin and had a full-body oh-wow moment.
The science was real. The clinicians were serious. Psychedelic medicine wasn’t hype—it was clearly re-emerging as a legitimate area of medicine. And yet, when I asked the most basic question—how do I actually get trained?—there was no clear answer.
Back in my hotel room, I did what any motivated clinician would do: I opened my laptop and started searching for programs. What I found? Overwhelm.
Too many programs. Inconsistent language. Hard-to-judge quality. Even with my clinical background, it was difficult to tell what was reputable and ethical or simply good marketing.
That gap is why I built Psych Med School.
I created the roadmap I couldn’t find—a grounded way to explore psychedelic education, hear directly from training leaders, and help clinicians get oriented.
Because the real tragedy, to me, would be someone feeling called to this work and then getting derailed by confusion, pressure, or the wrong next step.
And now? You don’t have to. You don’t have to do this alone. You don’t have to rush.
Here, your curiosity is met with an invitation to slow down. Get oriented.
Everyone is welcome in this conversation, and I am so glad you are here.
This is part of my service and legacy
Psych Med School isn’t just a project for me, it’s part of my life’s work. I’m building something that supports the future of psychedelic medicine education and helps shape a more organized, thoughtful ecosystem for the people coming next.
I offer keynote talks and lectures for institutions navigating psychedelic medicine education, training pathways, and professional readiness.
“Thank you so much for having us on as guests today. I am very grateful for your kindness and desire to lift up the collective community!” (11/2025)

Pick the psychedelic training program most aligned with your purpose
The assessment helps you organize. The podcast helps you explore. Together, they create a pathway that is both human and structured.
The free SCOUTT™ self-assessment clarifies where you are, now
So you can figure out your entry point into psychedelic medicine
There are so many pathways, trainings, certifications, retreats, and programs that it can feel like trying to read the stars through a cloudy sky.
You know the path is up there, but you can’t quite see it yet.
The risk isn’t just wasted money or wasted time, although that’s real.
The bigger risk is you losing momentum, trust in yourself, or walking away from the space completely because you chose something that didn’t fit your future.
SCOUTT™ is your guidepost.
After answering a few thoughtful questions, your answers are reflected back to you as a clear personal story—so you can see where you belong in the psychedelic training landscape before getting sold to.
Print it. Put it on your wall. Let it orient you while you explore what’s possible in psychedelic medicine education. Come back and take it as many times as you need.
Then, you get to start daydreaming again—in the best way. Not vague fantasy, but grounded, future-oriented clarity. The kind that reconnects you to possibility and helps you actually picture your next chapter.
The Psych Med School podcast
Where curiosity turns into discernment
The Psych Med School Podcast cuts through scattered Google searches and glossy marketing to bring you real conversations with the people who are building psychedelic training programs.
Program leaders get specific about who their training is for, how the curriculum is structured, what a session or training really feels like, and how students move through the experience.
Get a real glimpse into the psychedelic ecosystem through my eyes. I go beyond just theory or academic jargon and talk about real-world travel, conferences, conversations, leaders I’m meeting, projects I’m building, and the fun social moments that make this space feel alive.
We learn as we go and always stay curious.
“We loved the conversation and appreciate your enthusiasm for "rising the tide" for all of us doing transformational work!” (11/2025)
